Food Preservative Potassium Sorbate
Potassium Sorbate is a widely used food preservative that is gaining popularity in natural cosmetic products. It is the natural potassium salt of sorbic acid, which when dissolved in water based products is effective against yeasts, molds and select bacteria. While Potassium Sorbate has shown to be quite an effective preservative in a wide range of personal care products, it is not on its own a full spectrum preservative. We recommend using a secondary preservative if looking for wider protection, such as Grapefruit Seed Extract 60/40 Citricidal.
